This variety is an indica three-line hybrid rice. The whole growth period of middle rice planting in Honghe Plain is 135 days. The plant height is about 110 cm, the shape of the plant leaves is good, loose and moderate, and the flag leaves are upright. The plant height is moderate, the plant type is moderately tight, and the tillering ability is strong. Strong tillering ability, vigorous growth, good luxuriance, early growth and rapid growth at seedling stage, about 350 effective ears per square meter. The number of grains per spike is 169.3, the seed setting rate is 87.3%, the thousand-grain weight is 28 grams, and it is long-grained. According to the measurement by the Food Quality Supervision and Inspection Center of the Ministry of Agriculture of China: the brown rice rate is 79.1%, the polished rice rate is 57.1%, the aspect ratio is 2.7, the chalky grain rate is 29%, the chalky degree is 7.4%, the gel consistency is 76mm, and the amylose content is 24.6%. Good taste. Rice blast resistance: comprehensive evaluation level 3, moderate resistance in resistance evaluation. Xiangyou 98 was approved by the Ministry of Agriculture of Vietnam in November 2015.

Yield performance:

The average yield per hectare in the regional trial in Guizhou Province was 7.5 tons, a 4.5% increase compared with the control, and the increase reached a significant level; the average yield per hectare in the continued test was 9 tons, an increase of 6.74% compared with the control, and the increase reached a very significant level. The two-year average yield per hectare was 8.5 tons, an increase of 5.7% compared with the control.
The average spring yield of the Red River Plain is 8 tons. High-yield cultivation can reach 12 tons per hectare. The average summer production is 6.5 tons.

Key points of cultivation technology:

Timely sowing, sowing in mid-to-late December in the Red River Plain, and the seedling age is about 20 days. Sow in early June in summer. According to different fertility conditions, 38 holes are inserted per square meter, and two grains are planted in each hole. Pay attention to applying sufficient base fertilizer, especially emphasizing the combined application of organic fertilizer and nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium to promote the improvement of rice quality. Pay attention to the integrated control of pests and diseases, and strengthen the control of rice blast.
